Biography

Born in the middle of Kansas, USA, it wasn't until I moved to Maui, Hawaii that I started
painting professionally.  Prior to then, I had sketched and drawn a lot and would even do a
painting or two, to give as gifts.  The land and especially the Ocean was what inspired me to
take my art seriously.  I originally had gone there to work as a bookkeeper for a shopping
center, but the indoor life just wasn't for me.  It didn't take but a few months to realize that.

In 1991 I returned to Kansas for personal reasons, and it was harder there, to get back the
painting desire I had in Hawaii.  In the beginning, I did try working parttime and painting the
rest, but that didn't work well, so finally things evolved to the point that I was painting
fulltime again.  I've even started doing book illustrations for an author.  The scenes are still
paintings on canvas, but I just convert them into digital files for printing.  I do commission
paintings and try to get some paintings for sale on my website as time allows.

My Paintings are Oil on Stretched Canvas, measuring 3 inch by 3 inch, to a removeable, 3
panel Mural that was 144 inch by 90 inch.  Personally, I like the larger paintings, I still might
use a 00 brush in areas like on the Mural, but there is just something about them seems
easier than the small ones.  I have had to use a pair of jewelers glasses to see certains parts
in the small paintings.
